Ice Knife
Completed February 2025.
This full-body piece was created as part of my first art trade with SnoozingDuck, and depicts his D&D character Mittens casting the spell Ice Knife. This one was a labour of love over the course of weeks as I battled health issues and appointments while working with some new challenges in the work itself.
As Duck's only commissioned art of Mittens featured quite warm and cozy colours, I opted to create an image with a very cold palette and an air of unease. I wanted to draw him mid-flight as if he were in the heat of battle, and the sketch took a lot of tweaking to give the feeling I was looking for. The icicle itself was a lot of fun, and I feel it turned out exactly how I wanted it to.
